Classroom Chaos

I was able to get into my classroom for the first time on Wednesday morning.  I think I expected a fairly empty classroom with just curriculum and furniture...but I found this....

I must admit...OVERWHELMING!!!!!!  So, I spent two days this week going through all that stuff and weeding through what I'm keeping and what I'm throwing away.  It's years of inherited materials...which is so nice to have on one hand...but so much work on the other!  

I called my Dad and asked if he could take the kids for a few days since their daycare will be closed, so I can work on my classroom.  So, tomorrow I'm meeting him in Portland and dropping the kids off...I'll meet him again in Portland on Wednesday night.  I know Oregon seems so far sometimes...but I've never been so thankful that it is so close!  I'm not sure how I would get it all done with 3 kids in tow!  I'll be putting in some long hours this week to get it ready for my new kindergartners!
