Ears Are Pierced

Hallie has been BEGGING me for a long time now to get her ears pierced.  I told her that she could when she turned 5 or 6.  Then, in her mind that turned to 5.

For over the past month, she has been asking me DAILY if she could get her ears pierced.  Russell knew we were never going to make it to her birthday.  So, today we were out shopping and I stopped and let her get her ears pierced.

She was so excited...as you can see.

She picked out these little pink cubic zirconia daisies.  They are pretty cute...and girly.

We waited for 2 sales girls to get there.  I wanted to have both ears pierced at the same time.  I had warned Hallie that it was going to hurt...but it was quick and would only hurt for a few minutes.  She was ready.

They got her all ready...and 1...2....3.

I'm not even sure how I ended up with this picture...I snapped it as they said "3."  It's a classic!  She screamed...I think the whole mall heard her.  But it only lasted for a few seconds.  Then she wanted to look in the mirror.  The girls at Claire's were really good with her...and they explained everything they were doing so she wasn't scared.

She left with her little daisies in her ears.

By the time we got home she said that her ears already didn't hurt anymore!  Of course at bed time, they were hurting SOOOOOOOO bad.  I pulled a mom trick...I asked her if she needed medicine to make them feel better.  She said yes.  I sent her upstairs to brush her teeth, put some juice in a medicine dropper...and gave it to her.  It's a miracle....instantly no more pain!  Amazing how that medicine works.  She asked what the medicine was called...I told her it's Placebo.  :-)

Earrings can't come out until Christmas....so I think Santa might have to put some earrings in her stocking!
