I had a couple interesting conversations with my daughter today....figured I'd share.
First, this morning as I was doing Hallie's hair, I noticed it appeared that the hair dresser had put a layer in her hair. But I remember us talking about leaving it all one length. The more I looked, I saw that this 'layer' was only about 3" wide...not the full head of hair.
ME: Hallie, did you cut your hair?
HALLIE: No
ME: It looks like your hair has been cut. Did someone else cut your hair?
HALLIE: Yes
ME: Well....who cut your hair
HALLIE: Caitlyn
ME: When did she cut your hair?
HALLIE: The last time we were at their house for dinner. You and Daddy were downstairs and we were upstairs playing. Caitlyn went in the bathroom and got scissors and cut it.
The funny part is...it's been MONTHS since we had dinner there...at least 2 months. At least I can say it's not noticeable. It's just odd...Hallie LOVES her hair. She loves going to get it washed, cut and blow dried. Here's the rest of the conversation.
ME: Why didn't you come tell me she cut your hair?
HALLIE: Because we didn't want to be in trouble. We wanted to keep playing.
She's figured us out.
Conversation #2
Today I had an extra baby in the house. Our friends, Matt & Katie, needed a sitter so I watched Charlie. The only challenge is that I only have 1 high chair...and 2 one year olds. So I thought I would feed, change and get one to bed...then work on the next one.
ME: Hallie, would you help me keep an eye on Charlie and make sure he doesn't put anything in his mouth?
HALLIE: I don't want to.
ME: Please, it would be a big help. I'll even pay you $1 for helping.
HALLIE: No, I want 3 bucks.
ME: No, I'll pay you a dollar.
HALLIE: No, I want 3 dollars.
ME: I'm not paying you $3.
HALLIE: Then I don't want to babysit.
WOW.....my daughter is working me...wheeling and dealing at the ripe old age of 4. It really left me in shock....and laughing.
