Crush

So, seriously, my neighbor has a crush on my husband.  Seriously.

Russell has always helped this neighbor out when needed...for a long time she was a single mom and needed a quick question answered or needed to borrow a tool.

Tonight...it was WAY different.  :-)

So, there's a knock at my door.  Katie and I are sitting on the couch having some girl chat.  I go answer the door.  Its my neighbor holding a quart of oil.  "Hi, Is Russ home?" (In this raspy-trying-to-sound-sexy voice)   "No, he's not home.  Why, what's up?"  "I needed to ask him if this oil is what I should be using in my lawnmower."  Me: "Um, yes.  It says lawnmower oil so I'm sure it's fine."  "Oh, okay.  When will he be home?"  "Later.  Last I talked to him he was still in Woodinville."  "Oh, so it won't be before dark?" "Probably not."  

And she heads home.

Russell gets home and sits down in the chair to eat dinner.  He's home all of 5 minutes and there is another knock at the door.  I go answer the door.  It's my neighbor again, this time with a weed wacker in her hands.  "I saw that Russell is home now.  His car is out front."  "Yes he is, but he's eating dinner.  What's up?"  "Oh, I have a question about my weedwacker." (I figure after the lawnmower question I should have no problem answering a weedwacker question!)  "What's up?"  "Well, see this string hanging out?  I just want to know if it is supposed to be there?"  "Um yes.  When you start the lawnmower, that string swings around and is what cuts the weeds."  "oooooohhhhhh.  Okay, well I guess I'll go home now.  I won't bug you any more, don't get a restraining order."


Seriously.....I was dying laughing.  Of course if she were a cute little thing next door I might not be laughing.  But she's definitely not.  So I think ti's funny.  I'm so thankful Katie was here...Russell would have never believed me about her voice and all....but Katie totally backed me up!  So tonight, it's become the running joke in our house.  I'm curious to see if she tries to bug my husband any more...trust me...there will be updates to come if she does!
