Today's Big Event

Today we had quite the sequence of events that made for an all around hilarious experience.

When we got home from church, Nathan was asleep in his carseat and it was time for the kids naps. We were planning on taking Lucy with us to my grandma's...so I wanted to get anything out of the car that she could possibly chew on. I told Russell I would stay out and clean the car out if he would take the kids inside. So off he went with Nathan and Hallie.

I got busy cleaning out the car. It was really windy and my dress was blowing everywhere, so I decided to move Hallie's booster seat to the front and just sit in the back seat while I gathered all the kids puzzle pieces.

Russell got the kids to bed, let the dog out of her kennel, and went to the bathroom to do his business. (Why he didnt' put the dog outside, I don't know). Just as he was doing his thing, Lucy got all excited and peed on the bathroom floor...she was walking all over in it. So Russell picked up the cell phone and called me to come in and help him. But...here's the issue. As he was calling me, I was picking up my phone to call him. I had sat in the car and locked myself in...those lovely childlocks. We were in quite the perdicament.

Russell yelled upstairs for Hallie to come help him. She came downstairs and Russell explained that he needed her to go outside and let Mommy out of the car...which she proudly did. I came in to get the dog as she sat in her pee. I picked her up carefully to be sure I didn't get the pee paws..only to then realize that since she had sat in the pee her tail was soaked...and she was wagging it...Pee was going all over me and all over Russell.

It was quite hysterical! Then on the way home tonight Lucy was licking my chest. I made a comment about why the dog was licking me, Hallie's response: "Mom, she's just giving you a bath. She's trying to get all that pee off you." I think both Russell and I were crying tears of laughter....

It may not sound like it in words.....but this was hysterically funny. I think Russell learned his lesson about putting the dog outside right away...and I learned my lesson on the childlocks...I turned them off on Hallie's door today! :-)
