Today, we had an appointment to have Lucy spayed. What an adventure that turned out to be. Russell left here about 7:30am to have her to the vet by 8am. He mentioned to me on the way there that he thought Lucy knew something was up because she was really ancy and acting up in the car. Normally Lucy just curls up and falls asleep in the car.
He got to the vet and there was a sign on the door saying to leave the dog in the car while they filled out paperwork...so that's what he did. He went out to the car to get the dog and the thought crossed his mind "how did she get into mud."............uh oh.......it wasn't mud. While Russell was inside doing the paperwork, Lucy decided it was a good time to poop....
on the floor.....
in the car....
stinky, smelly gross poop....
and.....
walk in it.....
and then walk on the seats.....
and jump up in the window....
gross....
Russell took the car and got it steamed cleaned...but it still smells. The joys of a dog.
Then, this afternoon Hallie had her 4 year check up. She's perfectly healthy. The doctor told me that Hallie is slightly underweight for her height...which is good. The doctor told me Hallie is 'very advanced' based on that she has JUST turned 4 and knows all her letters, numbers, sounds, and is beginning to read. That made me feel good. We all like to think our kids are smart...so when someone meaningful confirms that...it's nice to hear. She had to get 4 shots...which I had already prepped her for. The first 2 were easy...she was awesome....then came the next 2. Apparently the chicken pox vaccine and the MMR hurt pretty good going in...and Hallie started screaming. I hate that part of being a parent. Your kid looking up at you screaming, tears flowing, and knowing there's nothing you can do. I just held her...tears in my eyes too. I hate seeing my kids hurt. She was a champ though...so I took her to Jamba Juice afterwards...she said her smoothie made her legs feel better...go figure.
