We move out of our house on July 20, 2013. Crazy, isn't it?!
Moving day went as well as moving can be. (Can I just say that I hate moving?) We took our time getting stuff ready in the morning. Our goal was to leave at about 1:30pm just in time for Emily to sleep in the car. She hates the car so we were dreading that 5 hour car ride with her! We had a few of those last minute boxes of just miscellaneous stuff. As we unloaded the truck in Oregon, you could tell I had gotten tired of packing when boxes were labeled "Misc" or "Box O Crap." I was so done packing!
My Dad came over and helped us get organized and loaded. Russell's parents came over as they were driving a truck down with us. We got most everything loaded leaving a little pile of stuff behind that will come down when they come visit us. We hit the road at 1:45pm...great timing!
As we were fully loaded and ready to go, I found myself standing in our front yard with tears running down my face. Yes, I was ready to move on. But this was our home... my mind was filled with all the memories that house held. My kids all learned to roll over, walk and talk within those walls. We spent our first years as a family in that house. Russell just hugged me and told me it would be okay. I took the opportunity to take a picture of the kids on our front porch for the last time....bittersweet, that's for sure.
