Today

Let's hope my weekend is better then my Friday.

I had to go drop off some masa at my mom's...(that's some special hispanic corn flour...all I know is I have a 5lb bag for a recipe that calls for 1/4 cup!)

I realized I was running late to pick up the kids at preschool....it was 11:27am...they were out at 11:30am and I was easily 8-9 minutes away.  So, I hit the road...and figured I'd just go 5 over the speed limit..that's safe, right? Umm...no.

As I'm cruising along, I pass a cop who is standing out radar-ing people.  As I pass, he hops in his car and takes off....after me.  I'm already running late.

I pull over..hand him my license.  And told him I wasn't being rude, but I needed to call the school and tell them I would be late...he was understanding.

He went to his car and as he was coming back I was thinking "whoo hoo..no ticket."  He only had this 8.5 x 11 paper in his hand...not that triplicate white/yellow/pink thing.  Um yeah...apparently they now print tickets in their car...on 8.5 x 11 inch paper.

I must have looked surprised, because the cop said "You haven't seen these?"  I said, "Since when do you just print a ticket in your car?"  He said, "So exactly how long has it been since you had a ticket?"  I replied shrugging my shoulders, "Oh, 10 years or so."  He smiled.

He said he couldn't give me legal advice, but if it were him he would go to court and see if the ticket could be differed...so that's what I'm doing.  Look for an update at some point in the future!  I'm just glad my kids weren't with me...I would never live this down...I'd hear all about how mommy was a bad driver FOR EVER!
