The Water Bill Letdown

In our house, I'm famous.  Famous for forgetting to pay the water bill on time.  Famous for having to pay the extra $20 fee.  I got a printout of last years water bills for my daycare taxes..and over 12 months I paid the late fee 5 times!  For some reason, I just forget about the water bill.

Yesterday, I was so proud of myself.  I remembered the water bill..on time.  So, I went to city hall to pay it.  The lady gave me the total and it seemed high.   Hmmmm...I thought. This time of year our water bills are usually less that.


I mentioned it to Russell last night.  He said to just watch it and see what happens.  If it seems high next month we'll look more into it.  Then, suddenly, Russell says, "You paid the water bill today?"  "Yup, this morning 9am."  Oh he says.  He pauses for a moment and says "So, isn't the water bill due on the 25th?"  Yup, I reply.   He said "Hey Stef, today was the 26th."   "Oh.  Guess that's why the bill high."


He laughed at me.  I didn't laugh.  I was so proud of myself...seems silly..but I was.  
Oh well...we'll try again next month!
