What A Crazy Day...

June 25, 2009 has turned out to be a CRAZY day!

First...congrats to my best friend from back in high school, Molly. She had her first baby today, a boy, named James Michael!

Then...Farrah Fawcett died today. I didn't grow up in the Farrah era...I was born in the midst of it all. But, even I knew that famous poster....and even I wanted that hair. I still would want that hair....

Then, just as all the news was prepping for the evening additons headlining Farrah's death...in came that Michael Jackson had died. Michael Jackson! His music has to be some of the most famous in the world. I think I've seen the Thriller video more times today then in my entire life. It seems that the world is in awe. They had to shut roads 4 blocks around the hospital because so many people were showing up at the medical center.

My step-mom, Shelley, said it best. Michael Jackson is our era's Elvis. And she's right. There is no one as big as Michael Jackson...maybe Madonna...but Michael Jackson is HUGE! I'm intersted to see how the next few weeks play out. Elvis was a world icon...and Michael Jackson was too. I also find it interesting that Elvis was the King...Michael the King of Pop. When Elvis died it was reported he died of cardiac arrest only later to have it said it was an overdose...we'll see what happens with Michael Jackson.

It really is sad though. He was just getting ready for his big comeback.
