My Little Shopper

Tonight we took Hallie out to spend her birthday money. She had gathered almost $70 to spend! Part of it was gift cards to ToysRUs, so we headed there. We browsed all the aisles as things here and there caught her eyes. She was very cautious of how much money she was spending. She would ask, "If I get this, can I still get xxxxx?" And I'd explain how much she had. She came across something more expensive and I explained that if she got that she couldn't get anything else. She said, "No, I don't want that. I want to get cheaper things so I get a lot." Russell and I were impressed...she understood the quantity and how the money worked. That seemed beyond a 4 year old..then again we've never had a 4 year old before.

She was quite the good shopper....Is good shopping a hereditary trait?

For all her money, here's what she got:

  • Mulan Barbie
  • a Light Brite
  • Barbie 'real' make up
  • Strawberry Shortcake panties
  • Dora Panties
  • The Aristocats movie
  • Madagascar the movie

The makeup was quite funny. She set her eyes on it and that was all she wrote! It's a set of lip gloss, blush, nail polish, and lipstick. All of course are little girl friendly colors. She was SO excited..but I told her she had to talk to Daddy first. So she went up to him with this sweet little face and asked so politely for it. Russell said okay. After all...she's about a girly as a girl can come...and you can only keep makeup from her for so long. Of course, I had to open it in the car...and she put it on before we went into Walmart...before we came home..and before bed....she wanted to keep it in her room. I told her know...I was forseeing 2am lipstick applications!
