This week has just been crazy...and we spent the last couple days with a flu-like virus....so this post is a bit belated...but enjoy the photos.
Last Saturday we drove out to Ocean Shores to pick up Lucy. I found her on petfinder.com and she ended up ours! We got out to the ocean a couple hours before we were supposed to pick up Lucy, so we let the kids drive the beach. The weather was not so good, so they couldn't go play. But, they sure LOVED driving the beach.

After letting the kids drive, we took them to lunch and then it was time to meet Lucy. The kids were SO excited. We filled out all the paperwork and we were on our way home. Hallie and Nathan both wanted the puppy to sit in their lap. Nathan cried for 40 minutes..with this face....
Because he wanted the puppy in his lap. She ended up sitting between the kids and falling asleep for the whole 2 1/2 hour drive home.
We told the kids to just go to sleep...Hallie refused. She said 'Mom, I'm just going be quiet back here and I'm not going to sleep.' I told her okay..just rest.

This is Hallie...just resting.
So we've spent the week potty training Lucy...which is going okay. And getting up at night with her. Having a puppy is like having a newborn baby! :-)
Nathan LOVES having a puppy...he plays fetch with her all day...and Hallie loves to snuggle her. So far, she's been a great puppy. Even though the rescue group we got her from said she was a lab mix...the 'dog people' that have seen her have told us they would be almost 100% sure she is a pure bred black lab. She had been passed around to so many people before the rescue group got her, they couldn't guarantee anything. Either way..we know she's some black lab...and the more we look the more lab we think she is. It doesn't matter if she's 50% lab or 100% lab...we just got ourselves a great addition to the family...and a dog the kids can grow up with having around.
