So for a while know we've known the transmission in the Blazer is slowly going...it makes this whining sound like it's in pain. Yesterday morning Russell called and told me it had finally died. I was slightly stressed. I mean, we've known it's been going...but it's still an expensive fix. So after I dropped Hallie off at preschool, me and the daycare kids, and Russell, went and got a tow dolly and off to get the Blazer we went.
We towed it to Russell's parent's house because they have a huge garage...and Jim likes to help out with stuff like this.
Then we started calling around to find a used tranny..a new one is over $1500.00!!! I was amazed at the varying prices...one junk yard told us $700..another $600...I found one on craigslist for $425 (but it was clear up in Everett!)....we ended up with one from the junkyard Casey works at for $450....and it was close to home. Still...expensive. But, we need the car...so what do ya do? Russell took a sick day today for his interview and then afterwards headed out to FW to work on the truck. So, I'm hoping he gets it back running sometime this weekend...but I know it's A LOT of work. I hate only having the Suburban when he's off with the Camry. That thing just sucks gas and I don't like to take it unless it's needed.
That's our drama for a while!
