and we don't get them very often. Seems like we always have to run here or there and are gone all weekend.
Not this weekend. Saturday, Russell tested for Pierce County. I'm so hopeful this one pans out. He just needs a change. While he was gone, Hallie and I ran a couple quick errands. We were all home, plopped on the couch by about noon. I fell asleep on the couch while the kids napped, and I'm pretty sure Russell did too. I made a super yummy meatloaf in the crock pot...I'm starting to think I have a slight obsession with my crockpots....yes that is plural. After dinner we went up to Federal Way for a quick errand. Okay, so I'm realizing this doesn't sound like a boring weekend...but for us it was. We were actually home before dinner...and got to be lazy.
Sunday, we had church. After church I asked Russell to take me to Southcenter to the Shane Company. That's where we bought my wedding set. Not only was I due for an inspection, but my ring has been catching on EVERYTHING lately, scratching the kids, scratching Russell..and I was beginning to be worried that the diamond was going to just be gone one day. I took it in there, and sure enough they told me a couple of the prongs were loose! Shane Company is amazing...they fixed it on the spot...no charge...cleaned it..and I was out the door! We grabbed lunch with Russell's mom, came home, put on our pajama pants...and plopped on the couch. Once again....we all fell asleep! Had leftover yummy meat loaf...and we all just hung around in our pajamas. We had an overall relaxing Sunday afternoon/evening.
I hate Monday's...just like most do. It just means back to the daily grind...back to kiddos here at 6....back to swimming lessons 2 days...back to school for me 2 nights....I really value my weekends with my family.
Russell is taking the written test today for Pierce County...it was the physical on Saturday. Hope for us...not only does he want a change...but the benefits for our family are AMAZING!!! It's a long hiring process...but we'll see. He takes the written test for the City of Auburn tomorrow...so that's another avenue to wait and see what happens! Wish him luck!
