Back to School

So, for a little bit here I've been toying with the idea of going back to school to get my teaching certificate. I LOVE being home with my kids, but sooner then I know it they will be in school. And I don't want to be doing daycare forever. And, with the way the economy is, daycare is really suffering. And, I have nothing to fall back on. Not that I see teaching as something to fall back on...if I had my teaching certificate, it is what I would be doing. What better job for a mom...be home in the summers....christmas breaks....spring breaks....weekends...I just think if I'm going to work outside my home, teaching is what I want to do.

So I talked to the people at City University, they offer a night/weekend 2-year program. I have a few prereqs that I didn't get in my AA. Not only is City U located in Fife, but they have a schedule I can work with. So, today I registered at Highline to take one of the classes I will need....Mathematics for Elementary Teachers. I start MONDAY! It's Monday and Wednesday nights from 7:35pm to 9:45pm. So I won't be getting home until about 10:30pm if the class really runs that late. But, in the end it will all be worth it.

I think I have about 4 classes to take. City U said I can have 1-2 left and still enter their program....it starts this summer. It's just a matter of if I want to have that much load or not...I'd like to start soon just so I know it's started....but I also don't want to take on too much. Then again, I did work full time, take a full load and have a newborn baby at home. So, we'll just see how it works out....plus I also have to wait and see what they say about financial aid too!

Wish me luck!.....A new adventure is ahead of me!
