Uncle Kevin helping us keep Nathan dry and warm!
Uncle Sean and Sandra keeping Nathan dry under the umbrella.So..I've spent the Puyallup Fair working for Merry Makers in their air brush face painting booth. I've had a blast. It really was a fun way to spend 2 weeks. I wasn't 'looking' for a job...just stumbled across the ad on craigslist..and gave it a shot. Not only was it fun to learn to do something fun like airbrushing...but I'm hoping they'll keep me on their call list for future work...if anyone calls wanting airbrushing at a carnival, birthday party, or even the Spring Fair. The picture of Hallie's face painting is what I was doing.

We took the kids to the fair this past Saturday. The ONLY day in the 16 days of the fair that it rained...but we had it planned forever! This was the first year I think Hallie really enjoyed the fair. She was old enough to look forward to and ride the rides...she loved the animals..as did Nathan. We even signed her up for Mutton Bustin. (See photographic evidence)...although that didn't go so well. She was all geared up and excited (Thanks to Russell) until it was her turn to get on the sheep and she found out it was wet. Then it was over...she started screaming and saying she didn't want to fall off. So the really nice MC offered to run with her and lift her off so she didnt' fall. He did...although I'm not sure they even technically made it out of the gate before she was leaping off.....screaming. Hey..it was worth a shot. She was quite upset...we bought her a lollypop to calm her down. :-) I can't wait for a couple more years when Nathan can do it. That kid is such a brute I think he'll hold on for dear life and they'll have to pry him off. Hey...he might even make it to the championship and be the proud owner of a belt buckle....what the heck we'll do with it I have no idea....but it's a nice thought.
See....look close...she really was on the sheep...for a second
Nathan got to experience his first petting zoo. I thought I was never going to get him out of there. He loved chasing the animals around. His favorite appeared to be the bunny...and I'm pretty sure he even said 'bunny' as was the lady holding it. Oh...and he also moo's at the cows. Could my son be any more adorable?
